Stan leaves behind a legacy of influence and a dedication to helping eyecare providers ameliorate both their businesses and the care they provide their patients. He is widely recognized and well known within the eyecare industry as a creative thought leader and enthusiastic advocate of how to best serve the eyecare profession. These attributes have made Stan an integral part of VisionWeb’s development. His keen insight into the needs of eyecare practitioners has provided VisionWeb with an important pulse on its customer. Stan has motivated countless eyecare practitioners to utilize and benefit from VisionWeb technology. Additionally, his input has been vital to VisionWeb’s ability to develop new technology and service offerings that truly align with the company’s ultimate goal of streamlining and simplifying the eyecare industry. Upon his retirement, Stan and his wife, Joyce, will remain in Jacksonville, Florida, which has been their primary residence since 1991. Stan and Joyce look forward to having more opportunities to travel to Hawaii to visit their parents, and to having more time to spend with their children. In addition to his 12 years at Vistakon, Stan was in private practice for over 24 years, founding a highly successful, multi-doctor optometric practice on Oahu, HI. Throughout his career, Stan served as a consultant and clinical investigator to most major contact lens and pharmaceutical manufacturers, and held many elected professional positions including, serving as President of the American Optometric Foundation, the Hawaii Optometric Association, the Hawaii Board of Examiners in Optometry, and the Hawaii Chapter of the American Academy of Optometry. Stan’s many accomplishments have been recognized by numerous professional and government organizations, and he has served as an adjunct clinical faculty member for four schools and colleges of optometry.
