Dr. Armitage received his Doctorate in Optometry in 1981 from The Ohio State University College of Optometry. After obtaining his O.D. degree, Dr. Armitage decided to pursue a Master of Science Degree by completing the Contact Lens Residency program at OSU. From 1988 to 2004, Dr. Armitage was head of worldwide clinical research for Johnson & Johnson.
In April of 2004, Dr. Armitage decided to apply his unique, specialized training and experience to direct patient care by acquiring Baymeadows Vision Center He has created a Specialty Contact Lens Practice for the Treatment of Corneal Disease and Ocular Trauma. Dr. Armitage treats conditions such as keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration, and results from Lasik surgery that is less than optimal. He uses advanced contact lens designs such as Rose K, SynergEyes, and Scleral Gas Permeable Contact Lenses.
